Our school has been taking part in the ICAS (International Competitions and Assessment for Schools) tests organised by the Testing centre of the University of NSW, for many years. We have found these tests to be a valuable and worthwhile form of assessment providing detailed and useful feedback for students, parents and teachers. We are encouraging all children to participate in these tests, as results will be used as another indicator to inform teachers of areas of strength and weakness across the curriculum. The competition is not based on the curriculum of any particular state or country.
The tests are as follows:
The Computer Skills Competition - (Tuesday 21st May)
The Science Competition - (Tuesday 4th June)
The English Competition – (Wednesday 31st July)
The Mathematics Competition – (Tuesday 13th August)
The entry fee for all 4 tests is $32. We encourage you to use our easy and convenient on-line payment option.
Each child needs a separate payment.
If you are paying at school, please complete the section on the attached form and return in an envelope with payment to your class teacher by Thursday 21st March 2013.
No money will be accepted after this date as one school cheque is forwarded to the University to pay for all competitions and they need to receive our entries soon after.
